Hon.Justice Namundi chairing the meeting with the Ministry of Gender officials

TheFamily Division of the High Court on Tuesday (November 26, 2019) afternoonengaged officials from the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development ona number of issues related to adoption.

Head ofthe Division, Hon. Justice Godfrey Namundi, who was flanked by Judges namely: Hon.Justice David Matovu, Hon. Lady Justice Ketra Katunguka and Hon. Lady Justice OliveKazaarwe Mukwaya, chaired the meeting.

TheMinistry officials, Mr Batanda Shaffiq and Ms Jane Stella Ogwang commended thecourt’s management for the interaction.

On hispart, Hon. Justice Namundi called for the supervision of probation officerswhom he described as key officers in adoption matters.

"TheMinistry of Gender does not closely supervise probation officers and mostreports made are just a formality which is a challenge in the dispensation ofjustice," Hon. Justice Namundi said.
